What is an immediate denture?
What are the advantages of an immediate denture?
An immediate denture will also help you to eat and chew better than you would be able to without any teeth.
An immediate denture will help support remaining teeth to stay in their current position.
What are the disadvantages of an immediate denture and why do they cost more?
Immediate dentures will not always be comfortable. They incur additional treatment and therefore costs. During the process of healing your gums will swell and then shrink and keep shrinking significantly for three to six months and thereafter at a much-reduced rate.
Immediate dentures require significantly more follow-up care due to the rapidly occurring changes in your mouth.
The denture will require adjustment to ease sore areas and a new fitting surface (commonly referred to as a reline) will be needed in approximately three to six months.
Is an immediate denture for everyone and how long would I wait without teeth?
How long does it take to complete an immediate denture?
Typically, we would complete the manufacture of the denture in around two weeks.
